Shetland Recreational TrustThe Shetland Recreational Trust are responsible for some of Scotland's finest leisure centres, including Clickimin Centre, Swimming Pool, pitches and running track, Sandwick pool, Scalloway pool, Brae Leisure centre, Whalsay Leisure centre, Yell Leisure Centre, Unst Leisure Centre, and a new centre on the West mainland of Shetland.

Model yacht racing at Asta lochLerwick Boating Club, Scalloway Boating Club and Brae Sailing Club are all very active.

You can also undertake Climbing, Pony trekking, Diving, Canoeing, Wind-surfing, Sea-angling, Trout-fishing, Walking, Bowling, Golf and Cycling, dependent on how energetic you feel.

One of the newest clubs in Shetland is devoted to climbing. Find them HERE

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL - the sea conditions and the weather can change VERY quickly in Shetland and even if you are properly prepared & equipped you can be at serious risk, especially if hill-walking, climbing, diving, canoeing etc. Sea swimming away from any beaches is NOT advised due to surprisingly strong currents which would defeat even the best swimmers. Shetland can display nature in its wildest beauty; respect it and enjoy it in safety.
