The law of trespass does not apply in Shetland and many landowners, crofters and tenant farmers will allow camping and caravanning on their land - but please ask for permission first. Please do not park your caravan in lay-bys or passing-places.
Please obey the "Country Code" regarding gates and fences and dispose of your litter carefully.
There are 4 official Camping Sites in Shetland, in Lerwick at the Clickimin Leisure Centre, at
Levenwick on the South Mainland, at Skeld on the West Mainland, and in
Fetlar.
There are Caravan Sites with hard-standing areas at Clickimin,
Skeld and in Fetlar.
